Questions & Answers

Q: I'm supposed to be heading to this place tomorrow for a birthday celebration for an adult friend. I have a 15 year old daughter and wanted to know if she's allowed to be there on the premises or at least shoot, what are their age requirements

A: My 10 year old has shot there. I don't know the minimum age but your daughter is well within it.

- Joe R (6 years ago)

A: My 14 year old son and I shoot there almost every week

- John Olivieri (2 years ago)

A: Minimum age is 13 years old is what I'm seeing on their website.

- Eunice Kim (7 months ago)

Q: Hi. Dog is allowed?

A: I think so

- Am Green (3 years ago)

Q: Can you bring your own clays?

A: No

- gagan jain (6 years ago)

A: No

- Antonino Angileri (6 years ago)

Q: Is there an age limit to shoot begginers trap at Thunder mountain

A: Their website says 13.

- Benjamin Schellack (a year ago)

A: I have a tall strong 8 year old grandson. He'll be starting his training this year. Not age by number as much as total package. To be a trophy winner at 13 and a national champion at 16 you get the seed planted and see if that's his direction. For any age kid a trip to Thunder Mountain instills discipline by osmosis, and I believe the kids understand the level of trust you are putting in them to handle firearms safely.

- Charles (2 years ago)

A: No age restriction to my knowledge. They do have .410 shotguns available for youths. I'd recommend about 10 yrs old minimum though.

- Bob Burns (6 years ago)

A: Don't think so. They should be able to handle a shot gun. Which does require strength...

- S WS (7 years ago)

A: Not sure, youngest in our group was 8/9 years old... might be a height requirement tho

- Dana L Harvey (7 years ago)

Q: Would like to take our son and 3 friends to shoot. Can we have alittle birthday celebration after?

A: Call them and ask

- Jeffrey Ruck (5 months ago)

Q: Do you need to make a reservation?

A: No. You can walk in.

- David Chen (6 months ago)

Q: Would I need a fire arms licence?

A: No. Anyone 13 and older can shoot.

- Alan vandeweghe (11 months ago)

Q: Do I need to become a member to visit this place for shooting?

A: No you don't need to be a member

- Robert Sudol (4 years ago)

Q: Are you Open on the 4th of July ? Thanks,'Gene

A: Sorry If this is super late, but yes! They are Open for 4th of July, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, etc. Call if your not sure, also keep in mind hours may differ on those holidays. They are not open Christmas, Thanksgiving, or New Years Eve.

- Tay Londay (3 years ago)

Q: Do they loan or rent guns, how much?

A: Yes they do. No charge for the gun but fee for ammo and clays. Please tip your helper well. This is a great place

Thunder Mountain is a first rate clay target shooting range. Rob and Lisa are good people who have been in the business a long time. Whether you're a beginner or seasoned shooter this is the place for you. I love going there whenever I'm in the area.

A great experience with our assigned instructor Gavin. He was the most helpful for my party of 4 and made our experience. 3 of us were beginners and he guided us through the session with tips and patience. $150 for 4 people, took us 1 hour so plan accordingly with their hours. Cash only. There is an ATM and bathroom onsite.

Went today and was a heckuva good time. It was my friend and my first time, and our instructor Will was awesome! He made us feel comfortable and really made the whole experience a 15/10. He was super knowledgeable and encouraging. We definitely want to go back!! Will should get a raise or something because he rocked.

I love Thunder Mountain, I never wanna shoot a hand gun again, I'm addicted to shotguns now. The husband and wife are so welcoming I really love this place. We drive about 2 hours from the city just to shoot, but it's worth every minute.

My boyfriend called this place and was asking if they did military discounts and this guy answers, ΓÇ£Why do you need a discount are you broke or something?ΓÇ¥ And just flat out being rude and not being helpful whatsoever when he was asked SIMPLE questions. This is not a way to treat your customers and it is completely unacceptable. If youΓÇÖre looking for a place to shoot, this is not it.

We've been here a few times. We decided take the kids since they're old enough now. They enjoyed their experience and can't wait to visit again! Our instructor was the best. She made our teens feel comfortable and gave them clear instructions to follow while shooting and handling. Give 'em a try!
