Tim's Shooting Academy of Westfield

Very unfriendly and arrogant staff. I’ve been a handful of times and won’t return. Never had a friendly “Hello” or anything walking into the place…they all act like it’s a private country club, if you are not in the “club” expect a rude and transactional experience. No personality, cold and pompous staff. Went this evening to shoot, they close at 9pm…walk in door at 8:11pm, wanting to get a quick 20-30 min shoot…no hello, how are you this evening…only said “Range closed, you’re 15 minutes too late”. Nowhere on website or range rules does it say anything about closing range at 8pm. Last month I went in looking for a carry .45cal …3 fellas behind counter, not a single guy acknowledged my presence, after looking at the inventory for 5 minutes I walked out, not a single employee asked “Sir can I help you”? No thanks, I’ll spend my $$ elsewhere. In a time that we are trying to grow and protect the 2nd, I sure hope that new gun owners / potential first timers avoid this place !

Great local range. They've recently gone under new ownership. I had to go through the orientation again but your drivers license acts as your membership now, so much easier next time. Multiple long lanes to go with many standard pistol ranges.

Helpful and friendly staff! Clean and well maintained. Excellent selection of new, used, and rentals. Pricing seems very good and there is plenty of space!

Tried coming in at 8:34 to pickup a firearm but the registers are closed already, closing time online and the sign says 9….would be nice to know before making the drive

Every time weΓÇÖve had questions, brought our guns in for service, weΓÇÖve always left feeling taken care of. The staff is knowledgeable, respectful and efficient. Mark helped us mount a sight, zero it out and didnΓÇÖt charge us anything. Tremendous service here. Would highly recommend and will be back.

My son and I were working in the area and did some shooting here. We are experienced, but I enjoyed the required safety vid for new customers. I think this place would be great for a novice shooter. They also have a nice collection of firearms to rent...good way to try before you buy.

Nice folks. Decent range. Bring your own ammo and make sure its not steel case/ steel core. Their ammo prices are pretty high compared to online sales but that's to be expected from brick and mortar shops these days.

Took the Basic Pistol class. Instructor Bill Wiley did a great job presenting and explaining all aspects of handgun usage, components and safety. Then observing us at the range and critiquing our handgun etiquette and usage. Thank you Bill for a great job.

After going to quite a few different ranges over the past month, I went here on a limb with a few buddies of mine. The owner and ALL of the worker were super knowledgeable, friendly and compassionate about their job. They have amazing classes and they are priced incredibly well, not to mention most of the things you need are covered by them! I will be coming here every weekend from now on!

I was at Tim's on Sunday, and the people working there are awesome! Its a very nice range, its clean, its safe and they make sure people there are briefed on all the rules and have to complete a safety exercise by watching a video prior to shooting. They have Guns, Ammo and accessories and have a gun smith on site for repairs, cleaning and deep cleaning. If you live in the area, I would highly recommend. Thank you for a great day at the range!

Visited for my birthday, great staff, extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I brought my AR15, and my Shield Plus and rented their Uzi. The Uzi came with 100 rds of ammo. I have to say that shooting the full auto Uzi was an absolute blast! Took me a few minutes to get the hang of the open bolt design, but staff was extremely helpful. I also appreciate their focus on safety. IΓÇÖve been to other un named ranges in the area and have witnessed some very unsafe behavior, but not at TimΓÇÖs. WeΓÇÖll definitely be back!

1 star for poor customer service. My husband was signed up for a basic pistol class today... I'm 37 weeks pregnant and have had no issues thus far but today woke up feeling very sick. My husband called and asked if he could reschedule for a month or two out and they said no refunds. We didn't need a refund, just a reschedule. Definitely taking business elsewhere.

We visited Tim's this past weekend. We had a phenomonel experience. Tim's allows for up to 3 shooters per lane which was perfect for my wife, our son, and I. We brought our Sig P320 XF and our Ruger Ec9. We rocked 1 hour together and got 150 rounds from Tim's. Tims made this a breeze. Wish I'd gotten more, and I will next time. We alternated between shooters on the lane and my wife and I could coach our little man. The target controls are cake to use for checking groups or replacing targets. There are distance markers built into the target rail above for quick reference. There was additional lighting at the lane that we had the option of using too, but having the option of having it off was great. They have a solid selection of targets ranging from body profiles to ducks and flying pigs. They have eye and ear pro on site, but I recommend bringing your own. Nothing beats your own equipment that's tried and true for you - the individual shooter. Tim's is very safety focused, and we watched an 8 minute safety video which I thought was outstanding for new shooters, my son being one of them. We will be back once I've mounted my Romeo 1 pro. Absolutely awesome team here. Thank you Tim's! Semper Fi.

My grandson and I went today so he could shoot. My grandson is very safety conscious and a good shooter. We both appreciated TimΓÇÖs focus on safety, their friendly professional attitude and their knowledge of guns. We also appreciated their willingness to joke around and willingness to help. We will be returning regularly this summer and look forward to the experience. Thanks guys ya done good!

1st time here, Went looking for a specific ammo for a vintage rifle. Specifically ask if they had it. Was directed to their overpriced shelf of the WRONG ammo. Not worth the drive or time for overpriced ignorance

Been to a couple shooting range in Indianapolis and this is by the far the best place to go. Beginner friendly and not just most but everything they have is affordable from ammo to guns/rentals.

My daughter and I visited Tim's on 2/11/2023. We initially went to another business because it was close to work. We were ignored for over 10 mins. Found Tim's on Google. We went in as range novices. They were busy when we walked in, but were helped right away. Actually more than one person asked what they could help us with. When we explained that we'd never been there before, they took the time to explain everything and provided a very helpful 8 min safety video. Someone on the range gave my daughter some helpful tips. As we were leaving, a gentlemen (I didn't catch his name unfortunately) at the counter took the time to answer our questions AND help with my daughter with her stance and quite a bit of basic instruction. I'm almost 50 yrs old. I can't remember a better customer service experience that I've had. Everyone we talked to there were patient and helpful. I honestly wish I could give them more than 5 stars, because they deserve it!!

My first time shooting and I was so happy with my experience. I have been with my husband before but it was my first time shooting. Not only was the staff extremely helpful and kind but the customers were so friendly. They gave me many tips in an encouraging way and helped my feel confident. We will definitely be back and I highly recommend

Hands down my favorite place to drop a duece, the staff used to be alot more knowledgeable and better looking but the guys they have now are okay I guess. Would have been five star but rumor has it there's a Canadian there

Went here for a basic lesson with Gil and it was amazing! He was super nice and patient with me considering I have never shot a gun before. The range feels incredibly safe and professional. I walked out of there knowing a lot more about guns than I did initially.

Tim has a pretty decent shooting range at a decent price. Unfortunately, this is by far the most disrespectful, rude, staff IΓÇÖve ever come across at a company.

Can't speak about the range itself, only the gunsmith service. Took two rifles in to get scopes mounted, one of them came back and I could have sworn the crosshairs were crooked. I took it back to get remedied and they called the next day and said it was ready to pick up. Again, when I picked it up the crosshairs hadn't moved. I expressed my concern before leaving and asked the guy behind the counter to take a look, he said nothing looked wrong and I must be shouldering it on an angle. After taking it out to long range I couldn't stand it anymore - I bought my own scope levels from Brownells and sure enough the scope wasn't level to the rifle. To make matters worse, only two of the four screws on each scope ring were tightened (the other two screws on each scope ring were free spinning!! And no thread lock whatsoever) Needless to say I won't be having them do any service work going forward. Giving three stars because they were friendly and I might be back in to browse their selection from time to time.
