A: Everytime ive been there, they have had different guns for sale. Ive seen older guns, ive seen nearly brand new guns, it just depends on what someone is selling.

A: They had a couple winchesters when i was there last. Any store with used guns has a constant change in inventory. I would stop in or call and see.

Q: Do y'all release the the firearm after 3 day NICS delay ?
A: We follow the Brady Law. Meaning of we do not get a response in 3 consecutive business days, we can transfer the firearm. The day the NICS check is initiated does not count as a day and weekends and holidays do not count towards those dates. NICS will tell us the date at which it can legally be transferred without a response.

A: Yes we do. There is no additional charge to use rental eye and ear pro. We also have it available for purchase of you what your own.

Q: How old do you have to be to use the range.
A: We leave that up to parents within reason. You know your children better than we do. If you feel they are ready and able listen to and follow all rules, then they are good to go. We love seeing the younger generations getting into the shooting sports!

Q: When is next conceal and carry class and how much ?
A: Eugene, we currently offer our permit to carry class 7 times a week. You can see the full schedule at the provided link. Anything date in bold has at least one spot open. Once you click the date, it will show you what time that specific class starts. The cost for the class is $69.00. Q: Do you need a permit to purchase a Kel-Tec sub 2000? I believe its considered a carbine rifle, so you wouldnt need one... correct me if im wrong.
A: Minnesota requires a permit for long guns if the firearm has 3 or more of the following.... 1- High Capacity Magazines (More than 10 rounds) 2- Folding or telescoping stock. 3- Pistol Grip 4- Muzzle device (Flash Hider, Threaded, Etc.) 5- Bayonet Lug This is why most Modern Sporting Rifles or AR Style rifles require a Permit to Purchase or Permit to Carry to purchase or transfer from an FFL Dealer. Q: Is total defense a private dealer? and how old do you have to be to rent handguns/ammo?
A: Not sure what you mean by a private dealer. We are a full service FFL dealer. You must be 21 years old to purchase pistol ammo and to rent handguns.

Wonderful and friendly staff! They are very knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions. Fantastic facility for anyone, whether you are experienced or a beginner. They offer many classes that cater to the different experience levels and the instructors are amazing!

I traded in 2 pistols and bought a different pistol, Jeff helped me out. As somewhat of a novice gun owner I had some basic questions. Jeff was very professional and didn't make me feel dumb, which I really appreciated. I feel he also gave me a fair price on my trade ins. If you are new to firearms you won't feel intimidated here. They also have a great selection of accessories.

City of Ramsey's best destination. Simply put best gun indoor gun range I've ever been in. Staff is all extremely knowledgeable and very very friendly with a family atmosphere. Highly recommend total defense in Ramsey Minnesota. This total defense in Ramsey just keeps getting better and better with time... The training and knowledge of the staff here is second to none.. Stop in the total defense and say hello to Angela and the staff.

Been going here for years. Everyone I have dealt with has been great, outgoing and pleasant to talk to. I actually drive past a gun shop on my way here. Prices are in line with the area but what sets them apart is the customer experience.

The conceal and carry class with Andrew is top notch. You learn about laws, legal aspects and the morals/responsibility of a permit to carry. I took this class because Andrew himself was so kind and made me feel welcome when discussing the class a few weeks before I took it.

Incredible customer service. Came in the night before hunting opener to sight my gun in. My mom gave me her card info to get a lane, and they needed the physical copy. Instead of turning me away the lady ran out to my car to offer me a lane. Not only did she save me a return trip, but she also got my return business whenever I'm near the area. 10/10 would recommend.

Amazing place!! Owner and employees are incredibly kind and helpful. We had a group of 18 for my daughterΓÇÖs birthday and they were accommodating and gave us a great rate. Also, they gave her a wonderful present as well. Highly recommend!

First met the owners when they first came to Ramsey years ago, not sure what kind of Circus Clown off their meds and skipping therapy would ever give this place less than 5 stars. Excellent service.

Went to get a holster made for a Glock and believed, falsely, that it would be done while I waited. No real problem there but the holster I received looked like the person who made it had never even seen kydex before. The sweat guard prevents a combat grip on the pistol prior to draw, unless I want to slice my hand open, and the whole thing is wider than I am. There is no way that I could use this holster for anything more than absolutely nothing. Don’t waste your time or money… *UPDATE* While my opinion of the holster hasn’t changed, I do have to give the staff at Total Defense credit. They reached out and attempted to make things right. They were super friendly and easy to work with and were very effusive about how sorry they were about my experience. They took the return with no complaints and, again, reiterated to me how they wanted to make things right. I cannot honestly recommend the holsters (although, to be fair, I saw a number of their rigs available that seemed to be totally fine in all aspects), I can recommend the staff and the shop. They messed something up. That happens. What is more important is the lengths they went to make it right. Upgraded to 3 stars.
