Not Recommended: Cerakote Work or Gunsmithing. Some of their Cerakote work. SA 1911 A1 Loaded originally park’d and started to show some wear and rust. Paid about $400 for it and thought let’s try and TRP Classic this up a little. Armors Black Cerakote…let’s go! Drop off was pretty smooth and the original setup guy was cool but he was not helpful about explaining the process/price and his coworkers were rude to him when he had questions making the situation awkward…This should had been an indicator to me to leave and not do business. Pickup from the shop, I was met with negative attitude for no reason and no one wanted to help me get my gun back. They essentially didn’t believe that I had Gunsmithing work done? So strange they would think I would go in there and lie about that? Like why? Light patches all around on the grip, trigger and upper frame. Waves and lumps in the finish where too much material was applied and not smoothed out. Under the grips is rough looking as well (not shown, covered by grips bc the Cerakote on the screw threads and frame makes it really hard to change and fear stripping at this point) and a big chip on my rear sight notch. Like a quick garage job and it was done in 4 days after being told aggressively 4-6 weeks. 4-6 weeks turned into 6-8 by the end of the discussion so what happened? Cancelations? Futuristic ovens? Range time ended with jams and more finish coming off so I presume this was not refitted or checked or function fired either before returning it to me. I am aware some finish is going to come off and the gun is going to be tight at first…but this is not that. I have had this process done at other shops no issues. I figured I would give this place a try. Mistake. I would expect them to fix this but I presume I would get the same negative attitude and it would come back in the same condition or worse. Based on the negative attitude of the people there during drop off/pickup, it was obvious they were not inclined to help or answer questions so I did not make a fuss in the store out of respect and I am sure it would go nowhere. I was also afraid they would just keep my gun the unprofessional way they were acting. Their Instagram photos were really convincing and I feel like I got taken a little here. I for sure did not get the same quality as advertised. Having another GS who is working on a similar project look at this to get it fixed correctly. From a distance or with beer goggles the gun looks great (first and last photo), but looks can be deceiving. The attitude there is so bad. Two guys that work there currently stated how much they hate the owner the few times I went there and the Gap location, so maybe a root cause? Maybe a team meeting 😂. They seem to have a streak of bad reviews for this very reason. Update 24-Aug-2024: I got the pistol cleaned up and looked over by somebody else and it’s working great now. They stated this was a horrible job and scolded me for going to Trop… they have a reputation. The finish is still what it is unless I pay to have a full redo. Is what it is and lesson learned. Good luck customizing out there everyone… but be wary and do some research.

Love this store, even though they're inventory hasn't been as good as it was in the past they still have a good selection. For people worried about the inventory, they have a website you can order guns from, they have pretty much everything on there. I ordered quite a few guns from Trops website and every gun arrived within a week, I've been very pleased with how quick itnis from the time that i ordered to the time i get the call saying my gun is ready. The memberships aren't for everyone but I've saved so much money because of the VIP membership, it's a must have for people who buy firearms on a regular basis. The only thing I wish would change is I wish they would allow shotguns on the range again. Even if it's just members only for shotguns and if anything is damaged you lose your membership. I would buy alot more shotguns if I could shoot them there.

I’ve been here multiple times over the years. The range is nice but the retail store has its issues. Trading in a firearm here is a nightmare experience. You always get the same story of how the market is down and certain items just aren’t selling and they offer you 20% of retail and sell it for 80% of its MSRP. Their new inventory is generally over priced aside from their mass sales they occasionally have on bulk buys that they get access to…. There are way better options in just a few mile radius with better inventory, better trade in policies, and more accommodating staff.

IΓÇÖve had 4 cans, 3 were all at once back in about 2021 and 1 just back in the fall, all transferred through Trop. They do it accurately and correctly. Getting them to do the transfer is the hard part. Calling to speak with their NFA employee is always impossible. The counter employees screen your call, then a week passes by and you hear nothing back. Wash, rinse, and repeat. For about 4 weeks and you might get a call to ask you if your SS info is up to date. Then about a week later youΓÇÖll probably get to submit your form 4. The first three sat in their safe for about a month and a half before the form 4 was submitted. The most recent one was a month, so hey a 2 week improvement after 2 years. After my form was submitted it was approved two days later so I go to pick it up. When I get there Matt tells me he was happy with a month to start my eforms submission. These are far from my only experiences with NFA transfers. Little Spar firearms over in Mechanicsburg on the pike had me in within two days to submit my form 4s and that was only because I was busy on the first day. They get it done at Trop but they are SLOW. And to say ΓÇ£well weΓÇÖre a big shop and we do a lot of NFA transfers.ΓÇ¥ Pick up another employee or train another few up on how to do it. And theyΓÇÖre $150 a pop for the them.

All the employees are racist. I had very bad experiences when I went there. There was one bald-headed person. He was completely racist. Be careful. These people never like foreigners. I do not recommend anyone to go. Be careful.

Indoor range is great, and the staff are easy to talk to. On the other hand though, firearm accessories are completely out of stock, and gunsmithing is behind a couple months. I needed firearm accessories (buffer tube and ejection port cover) asap, and Trop said if theyΓÇÖre in stock the could have it in one to two days. ItΓÇÖs now been two and a half weeks and no update on anything. IΓÇÖve tried getting in touch with their e-commerce 4 times and every time it was directed to voicemail. The whole reason I went to Trop was for the quick access to firearm accessories. And yes the website did say in stock for both items. On the other hand, their cigar room is great and they have a wide selection of cigars, and prices are reasonable.

I live right up the road from here and have chosen to come here over the competition that is literally at the next exit up. Depending on the day, the staff is hit or miss. And over the last several years the inventory has gotten worse and worse. Was in there today and it looks like they are going out of business. Shelves are empty, barely any inventory of firearms. They changed the floorplan around again. Not at all what you expect a place in business to sell firearms to have such a limited selection.

I have had a membership for 3 years and used to really enjoy shooting there. The staff were always safe and knowledgeable about firearms and other gun stuff. Lately, they have lost a lot of good employees and do not keep a good inventory of guns and ammo. They also changed the membership in a way to benefit only the company and not the actual customers. I was at the range today, and the employee at the range counter "RSO" seemed to know next to nothing about the safe handling of firearms and firearms on their own. The employee did not clear the gun before handing it to me and also admitted she did not know how to handle one of the full auto rifles, specifically the M4 they have to rent. After I was done shooting and brought the rifle back out, she did not clear the firearm again before laying the extremely hot gun on the ground in a bin, instead of safely placing it on the wall on the hangers. This is unfortunate for trop because they failed to hire an RSO that is safe and knowledgeable about firearms and provide a safe environment for customers. I hope they will provide the training needed for this employee and / or hire a better qualified RSO. I unfortunately will not be buying the membership again and will be looking for a more professional range.

Was in communication with TropΓÇÖs instructor (Ziah Marty) to schedule training and a guided shooting experience for my friends that never shot a firearm. Trop was accommodating for what we requested (safety course, guided shooting, range rental). The instructor (Ziah Marty) was personable, thorough in his training, and knowledgeable/taught new things to every experience level. During the guided shooting, all of the inexperienced/experienced shooters truly appreciated his presence; Me, the experience rusty shooter, he helped correct my shooting technique and even showed me how operate/identify parts of my new rifle. I would suggest requesting Ziah as an instructor in the future.

I called and spoke with the person who answered the phone. I explained we were not experienced and needed an instructor. Would an instructor be available at 4pm on Sunday even though they close at 5pm. The person who answered spoke with Adam and he assured me it would be no problem. We arrived at 4pm on Sunday and we're told we were given the wrong information. No instructors were available on Sunday. Bottom line is they barely apologized, couldn't care less about us and their staff is obviously poorly trained. I'm confident there are better and more professional gun shops and ranges in the area .

I came in to the store at 11:07 which the store opens at 11 oΓÇÖclock. I went to the door and it was locked and the people inside just stared at me like I was stupid. I asked if they were closed today to the people that were standing outside of the store, and the woman said obviously theyΓÇÖre not open. Then, of course, right when I was pulling out of the parking lot, the guy inside the store opened up the door. I will not be returning to this store and I recommend nobody else coming to the store because they are all arrogant and act like are better and know more than anyone else.

Running a 10% off sale on used guns.... Despite no signage saying it, the 10% off sale only applies if you're a member... Members already get 10% off...so it's really a 20% off members only sale. But that's not what the signs say. The signs say 10% off used guns. The signs don't say members only event. You need to be a member to get access to that sale. But, again, members already get 10% off. Deceptive signage, bad business. Social media posts say nothing about needing to be a member. Wasted an hour of my day for one of the more frustrating retail exchanges I've ever had. I was fine paying full price, to be honest, but the entire exchange left a horrific taste in my mouth. What a strange experience. I shouldn't need to be sold membership to access publicly advertised sales. Absolutely will not return.

Very fun nice range, staff seemed like they had sticks up their butts and werenΓÇÖt very attentive but other than that great experience with lots of options for rentals. Ammo was a bit on the pricier side.
