Viola Valley Shooting Range

We have shot there quite a bit over the past few years but no more. Went down there with my brother to help him sight in a deer rifle. He paid on the way in and i didnΓÇÖt plan on shooting but thought I would be able to pay on the way out if I decided to shoot. The sign said $10 per person which I thought meant per shooter. The owner came by while we were shooting and asked if we had paid and I responded honestly that my brother had and I had just planned on watching buti decided to shoot and would stop and pay on the way out. He immediately started going on a rude, hateful tangent about how it said per person not per shooter and that everyone had to pay to be on the property due to insurance and wouldnΓÇÖt hear me out about the fact that it was just an honest mistake and kept telling us how sad it was basically accusing us of stealing and treating us like thieves. The sign is so vague it needs more explanation if heΓÇÖs going to try to chew everyone out over something that most people would think is an implication that you pay if you shoot only. I own a business myself so I understand what he was saying but being angry and rude with customers and trying to chew them out for 5 minutes and treating them like thieves is not acceptable when he couldΓÇÖve just politely explained and it wouldnΓÇÖt have been an issue. We just simply didnΓÇÖt understand. After the fact he acted like he was doing the world a favor by being open and told us he could just close down and didnΓÇÖt have to be open and that he was getting cameras to keep track of who is coming in and out because of us. It wonΓÇÖt matter to us if itΓÇÖs open or not anymore weΓÇÖre not going back. All of that because he want to burn our ears instead of being diplomatic. He also has portable restroom business that I had talked to him on the phone about renting a unit for an indeterminate period of time and we were considering switching.

Only two pistol ranges, very crowded. Was told by someone on a tractor to move, after they watched me get setup because they had to cut the grass right then and there; very rude about it too. I will not be back.

I've been going here for a few years now. It's a really nice little range that is well kept but simple. I enjoyed talking to the guy that used to run it but he passed away. I think his wife still runs it but I'm not certain of that. It's on the honor system and I hope everyone going there will do the right thing. I seen recently it has had a cash drop box added when it used to be a mailbox and a rock. Times change I guess. Rifle and pistol ranges and a porta potty if you need it. $10 and you can shoot all day.

Nice shooting benches and multiple ranges for rifle shooters out to 300 yards. Pistol ranges also. One Portapotty available.

The range small and very private. I know the owner very cool, has hearing g problem, nice guy. I put two rounds in one hole at 100 yards on this range 22/450.

Very minimalistic. Usually maybe you and 1 or 2 other groups of shooters on the entire range. Beats most ranges in the area for the price!

The price has gone up to $10. I came at 2 on a Thursday and it was very slow pretty much by myself. if you're looking for a No-Frills shooting range where you're left alone and don't have range Nazis this place is great.

Drove two hours to this place because it used to be very nice place. I guess time is not kind to anything. Owner was very prudish an unapproachable. Very ill and inconsiderate. Showed up in his vehicle with a cigarette in one hand and a can in the other.

Me and my daughter Ella Nicole love coming to the gun range to shoot. She knows the reality and the safety of using a gun and not playing video games in the house all the time

Definitely worth the drive from Nashville. Great for party's- Went there with a men's group from my church. We set up chairs and a couple canopies and grilled hot dogs and ate lunch while we shot all day. There are multiple ranges set up including a long and short rifle range; a pistol range with a covered staging/firing area; and a shotgun range with a remote controlled clay pigeon thrower ( must bring your own discs ) and right and left covered firing stations. I'm definitely going back!
