I used to shop frequently at this store but my last two interactions with sales associates here were rude interactions. Wanted to buy my son a 22 rifle for his birthday. Went to this store and talked to an associate about my price range. I was scoffed at a 300 to 400 dollar price range for a simple .22 to train my son to shoot with. I overlooked this interaction and ordered the rifle anyway as a taller sales associate wearing as hat saved the sale by being helpful, found me a rifle within my price range within a few min and had it ordered for me promptly. When I was called about the rifle arriving in the store for me to pick up I entered the store, linked up with a sales associate for my rifle, and started inspecting a small revolver that was mainly decorative placed on a display table in the center of the store and open for customers to interact with. After learning how to remove the revolving round holder I was having difficult putting it back together. Another sales associate observed me struggling, then demanded I bring the firearm to the counter and quit messing with it after giving me a good 30 seconds to figure it out. He further explained to me that his tolerance level was low that morning in a demeaning tone and reprimanded me instead of helping me try to figure out how to put the small pistol back together. He told me not to mess with things I didnt know how to handle, or something to that nature. I am concerned about employees who have low tolerance levels for customer interaction that work with firearms. This employee seemed to have anger issues and from my 14 years of experience in the Marine Corps anyone who has anger issues, access to firearms, and little patience is a bad combo of someone you want working around firearms. Unfortunately, my last interaction with the last sales associates alone was enough for me to never come back to this store. Shop anywhere else for your firearm needs unless they provide adequate training for their employees to help customers, maybe give employees the day off who "have a very low tolerance level" (whatever that is supposed to mean), or find some other solutions where employees don't take out their "bad day" on customers. Good luck in your future endeavors.

Top notch Company! IΓÇÖve purchased a few items from WendlΓÇÖs Weapons in the last few years. The staff is very knowledgeable and super friendly! They have a Gunsmith on staff and helps customers as well. Each time I go in is even better than the last. Always has good stock and the indoor range is one of the nicest, cleanest and best out there. Even offer a Military, Law Enforcement and First Responder discount. These folks do not disappoint. Great service, knowledgeable staff, relaxing environment, clean range, pro community, and veterans. The owner is a class act. Prices on most items seemed well within range. A gem in the middle of Iowa.

Have been here a few times just looking around and I have never had a bad experience. The last time I was there really stood out though. I needed a recoil rod/spring assembly for a 10/22. I was in the area and was going to see if I could save some money on shipping to get a Volquartsen assembly. The fella that I talked to called over and said they could have it in about a half hour. So we ran some errands and came back to pick it up. He had it sitting out for me! We then talked a little about the Volquartsen line up and he let me check out a few rifles and pistols. Just some cool guys in there that are willing to help anybody. They really do make you feel welcomed into the store.

very knowledgeable guys. selection was scarce for awhile (what gunstore wasn't) but has gotten a lot better in the last few months. Range is great, plenty of choices for targets. Lots of supplies (holsters, ammo, accessories). Date night is awesome the first Saturday of the month.

This place is sad, Buy your weapons online, I dont know Wendls is even open, dont come in expecting any new or popular firearms in stock, or ammo, or magazines, very disappointing.

Purchased a 12ga Bullpup that I was having difficulty finding (at a reasonable price). Owner went out of his way to call me back to inform me that they had one in stock after originally thinking they were out. Seemless out of State purchase and FFL transfer. Decent pricing, outstanding consumer service and fast processing. I will be going out of my way to use them for my future needs bc it was such a good experience. Thank You!

Decent place. Low stock. The bad part is make sure you take cash. They charge 3.5% to use a card. Not sure how that is normal. I have a PayPal account that only charges 1.7% to charge. Even with that cost I never charge my patrons more to make up the cost. ItΓÇÖs supposed to be the cost of doing business. As I didnΓÇÖt have $70 in cash to pay I had to pay the 3.5% since I already did the range and purchased a holster.

It's a nice clean shop. Not much for guns or ammo in stock, likely due to the current election situation. I was disappointed that their stock listed on the website was not up to date. I looked at inventory online the day before and drove along way to hear them say it was sold 3 weeks ago.

We were camping near by so we decided to stop in and check it out. The guy that helped us out was awesome. They have full auto guns you can shoot, even a 50 cal. I would definitely recommend stopping in if youΓÇÖre in the area.

I recently bought a used ruger SR1911 from here and the gun is great. But when i got it home I disassembled it to inspect it a little closer and i was very disappointed to see the the gun was absolutely filthy. From the outside it didnΓÇÖt have much ware to it and practically looked new so i was thinking it had not been fired much previously. On the inside it was completely gunked up and needed some heavy cleaning. If you buy a used firearm from this place i suggest making sure the firearm has been properly cleaned before walking out with it. After cleaning it the firearm worked great.
