Questions & Answers

Q: Are kids under the age of 18 allowed, if so whatΓÇÖs the earliest age allowed ?

A: Hi Vanessa, the minimum age for the range is 8 with adult supervision required at all times. The minimum age for training and classes is 13. I hope this helps. Thanks, Eden (WCA)

A: I took my nephew he was 9.

Q: Do you have to bring your own guns or are there guns there you can pay to use

A: They have guns you can rent but there is a catch. In order to rent a gun, you need to bring a friend. Either a real friend or a little friend (your own gun). Its to prevent you coming to the range, renting a gun and using it to commit suicide. If you are coming in with a friend or your own gun, you are less likely to come to the range to commit suicide (or so the theory goes). Its happened a few times at another range in the area. That range decided to institute the same rule after the 3rd incident. Sad it took 3 incidents to change. Even though its a bit of a pain, i understand why they do it and fully support their decision.

- Andrew Watts (7 years ago)

A: Both, just check the website, give them a call, or drop by. They will answer your questions.

- MaryKay Windham (7 years ago)

A: Bronze members must bring a gun and/or friend to be able to rent a firearm. Silver, Gold and platinum members do not need to bring a friend/colleague/family member. Gold and platinum members can rent guns free as part of membership.

- Keola V (6 years ago)

A: They have a great selection of reasonably priced rentals and a good selection of guns that are available for purchase and a knowledgeable staff.

Q: Hey i'm 12 and i really want to do airsoft. My dad says that airsoft is a training ground for actual shooters. Does anyone know a safe place where people like my age play and i can have fun, with my dad knowing that im safe?

A: As long as you donΓÇÖt mind frequent swearing from the other players, who are very nice, there is a place in auburn that plays every Sunday for free. The address is 3210 Stuck River Drive. The place is called ΓÇ£auburn airsoftΓÇ¥ and you can find them on Facebook

Q: Do they have guns to purchase?

A: They have a range of different firearms for sale.

- William Terrance (3 years ago)

A: I believe they do. You wall through a store like area before you get to the shooting range. I haven't personally purchased any from them, but they look as though they sell some.

- Gina Tuthill (5 years ago)

Q: If I have a membership at West Coast Armory North, does it apply here?

A: Hi Adele, Thank you for asking, we'd love to have you but, no, we are not affiliated with WCA North and haven't been for many years.

Q: Is it normal procedure to charge $3K plus(which includes taxes, fed fees) for a weapon, to someone who hasnt completed the BGC? What exactly happens if, hypothetically, the BGC fails?

A: you can't buy weapon without bgc, your money will be refunded

- Chef (2 years ago)

Q: Do they background when renting a firearm and shooting

A: No, we do not run a background check on firearm rentals. Thanks!

- West Coast Armory Indoor Range (3 years ago)

Q: Do you allow air rifles and pistols on your range.

A: Yes, we could but the pricing and membership would have to still be the same.

- West Coast Armory Indoor Range (4 years ago)

Q: Do they background check

A: Only if purchasing firearms from the store

The staff members I spoke to both online and in person were very knowledgeable, friendly, and ready to explain things and answer questions without condescending or annoyed tones. This is rare for gun stores from my experience. I plan on being a repeat customer. Shout out to David!

I had a very disappointing experience at this store today when attempting to purchase a firearm. The price tag clearly listed $499 , and the staff verbally confirmed this price. After spending nearly 1.5 hours in the store while they completed my background check and paperwork, I was finally at the point of payment—only for them to suddenly tell me that the price was actually $40 more, admitting that they had mistakenly listed the wrong price on the tag. One staff member initially offered to waive the $20 background check fee as compensation for their mistake. However, when the store manager, Ramon, finally came over after another long wait, he was dismissive, did not apologize, and instead told me, "You can either pay the extra amount or leave." He refused to honor the previous offer to waive the background check fee and instead insisted on giving me two free boxes of ammo instead. When I suggested a compromise—paying the extra $40 if they would at least waive the background check fee and provide just one box of ammo—he refused and said, "There's no difference." If there was truly "no difference," then why not do it the other way, especially when they had already offered to waive the background check fee earlier? Even worse, Ramon dismissed their pricing error and my nearly 2-hour wait as a "very small mistake." After spending so much time in the store, I was frustrated that they changed the price only at checkout, after I had already gone through the entire process. Instead of taking responsibility for their mistake, Ramon tried to justify it by saying his staff also spent time on my paperwork—as if doing their job was an excuse for misleading pricing. Then he bluntly told me I could leave if I didn’t want to pay the extra $40. To be clear, this store has a lot of security cameras, so everything I’m saying can easily be verified. If they claim otherwise, they should check their own footage. The range staff here was much more professional and friendly when I previously took a class and being a member for one year, which initially made me think this was a trustworthy store. However, after this experience, my opinion has completely changed. Be very careful with their price tags, as you might end up paying more after investing significant time completing paperwork and background checks. Interestingly, I came across another customer review from several years ago who reported being tricked into paying an additional $40 due to unclear or misleading charges. It seems this issue has been happening for years, which makes me wonder if this is a pattern. Additionally, based on other reviews, it’s clear that most of the positive feedback is for the range and classes, while the retail store consistently receives negative reviews for poor customer service and unclear pricing practices. Be very cautious when shopping here. Would not recommend. 🚩

Shooting here multiple times, the staffs are professional and friendly, a variety of choice for rental. Not a five star is because of during the busy day today, there is a unleashed dog walking in the counter and pro shop, which could really be dangerous, I hope this could be adjusted in the future.

Update (December 2024) I still stand by this review. If there is one gun shop I'd point to as my favorite, it's this one. This business employs the most consistently kind, courteous, and knowledgeable folks. I've been shopping here since the beginning, and I bought many guns here. The staff is as helpful and patient as can be; they want you to be happy with your purchase, and they are very knowledgeable. Always a pleasant experience shopping here. Please support this business as HB1240 is hurting all gun stores across the state, and we need the good ones to stay around! You won't regret stopping in. This store is my favorite.

The range is fine, but a couple of people in the pro shop, including the manager, need attitude adjustments. Kept trying to upsell me, talk to me like I didn't know wth I was talking about, then bristles when confronted on his 8th grade home economics level of knowledge. He'd have made a sale had he kept to facts and stopped trying to belittle myself and other things he had dilettante level knowledge about. Owner, this guy is gonna cost you a lot of business unless you reign his piss poor attitude in. He cost you $7500 already. That's what I was going to spend on the device I was prepared to order, plus optics and accessories.
