Not a fan of the WMA's fudd rule of "double tapping or rapid fire is prohibited. Shooters shall allow at least one second between shots." We don't only have bolt actions anymore, man. Experienced shooters should be allowed to practice their drills.

Recently, I had the good fortune of being able to attend Wilson Shoals WMA Shooting Range over multiple days and had an enjoyable experience on each occasion. The staff not only ran a tight ship (Safety and overall cleanliness), but they were friendly, professional and easily approachable and only too happy to assist if and when required. Highly recommended venue and staff. Looking forward to my next visit.

Checked to make sure they were open before we drove over an hour to get there today. As you can see in the photo it says open and closed at 6:00. Got there to find out it wasnΓÇÖt open.

I've been going to Wilson Shoals for about eight years. I first started going before the recent renovations. The range was always kept neat and clean. The range officers were always friendly and helpful while still keeping the range safe and making sure that the rules were being followed. The renovations are outstanding Post-renovation this gun range has all of the amenities that one could ask for. And the range officers and employees are just as friendly, helpful and safety conscious as ever. Whether it's rifles, pistols, bow or anything else, it's always an enjoyable experience.

Fantastic place for both new and experienced shooters! Mike Thompson, a range safety officer, went above and beyond to help me tighten my pistol groups and improve my trigger control. His guidance was clear, patient, and incredibly helpful. The staff here truly care about ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience. Highly recommend!

My first time there the other day was great. The staff were polite. But yesterday when I went, the safety officer was very rude. I routinely checked in, the range was cold, so great. I went and it looked quite full, so I was about to walk back to my truck and wait a while, but the safety officer told me, ΓÇ£go find a spot put your stuff down, and grab a stapler and get your target ready like he though I didnΓÇÖt know what to do. Now I know what the hell IΓÇÖm doing because IΓÇÖve been to gun ranges many times before. I know what to do. Besides that, the range was very organized and clean. Just donΓÇÖt hire old grumpy men that donΓÇÖt give a shit about courtesy. I always respect the authority of elders, but they have to show some respect

First time at Wilson Shoals and I WILL be going back. Spoke to Everett (Range Manager) about the recent poor reviews. He said the number one goal of the range is to have a safe environment for everyone. There are really simple rules to follow and the range was almost full when I shot. No one had a problem and the Range Managers were polite and well communicating. I was given clear instructions on how the range worked (both rifle and pistol) and watched the required safety video prior to my arrival. ItΓÇÖs great that there is a WMA Range to enjoy that is safe and accommodating.

First time at the range and WILL NOT go back……. EVER!!! Range masters and safety officers need a lot more compassion and should take lessons on communication skills. They were extremely RUDE and BELITTLING!!! What a shame to have such a beautiful and well laid out range, only to have it destroyed by officers who are an embarrassment to the State of Ga.

Went on a Friday and it was not busy at all over on the pistol side. The range safety officer was both nice and also made sure I followed the safety rules. I had an excellent experience.

Excellent facility with a wonderful staff. Range officers on site and they are super knowledgeable and friendly. Make sure you screenshot your hunting license because there is little to no cellphone reception.

Employees were very friendly and the range was well maintained. Will absolutely return. Requires specifically a "hunting" or "fishing" pass to use range. Absolutely worth the 15$/year.

I grew up shooting at various indoor ranges, never really settling on one, but since discovering Wilson Shoal about a year ago, itΓÇÖs become my favorite spot. Although itΓÇÖs a bit further of a drive, itΓÇÖs absolutely worth it. The outdoor setting and being in nature create a unique atmosphere that indoor ranges just canΓÇÖt match. The staff, especially Mike, are always helpful and offer great guidance. Highly recommend this range for anyone looking for a great outdoor shooting experience.

This range is always great to visit. Yes they are strict, because itΓÇÖs a gun range. I like the open air compared to the indoor ranges.

Overall range was very well maintained and very safe. That being said - I understand safety at the range is #1, but there is a way to maintain a safe environment without being rude. Multiple employees / range safety officers were incredibly short and condescending while communicating on the range. Only one out of the four safety officers on the range was polite and created a welcoming environment where the newer shooter we had with our group felt like he was able to learn. Overall it was a very poor experience and a good example of how not to communicate with paying customers.

Great range, staff do a great job running it. Like previous reviewers have said though the road leading to it is in pretty bad shape and has been for a while. Update, road has been fixed and is smooth now

Unreal how rude and unprofessional some of the staff treated us. I went the other day and was yelled at several times before I took any firearm out the case. One of the officer in the main building was super nice and friendly, but the officer on the rifle range was very hostile. Honestly ruined the range day and made us feel very uncomfortable. Talked to a buddy who went today and he had the same experience as me and based on his description on the rude officer it sounds like the same guy. My only complaint of the range is the rude employee but that was enough to ruin it for me. Absolutely never going back.

Pretty nice range but range officers yelled at my group before we took guns out of the case. Was an unpleasant experience. Still shot tight groups despite this and that seemed to calm the range officers down.

Decent range. However employees on Sunday (7/7/24) were completely unprofessional and rude. Yelled at twice before the guns were even out of the case for absolutely no reason. Safety is number one on the range, however there is no reason to belittle people. He backed off after my buddy shot tight groups.

I was apprehensive about going to a public, staffed range due to previously poor experiences with over-bearing RSOs or fellow shooters with safety issues. I was very pleasantly surprised with everything at this range. The short unpaved drive into the shooting area was recently scraped with fresh gravel laid down. A Prius wouldnΓÇÖt have an issue with this road. Facilities were extremely well-kept, shooting lanes have comfortable stools and nice pressed-rubber composite shooting blocks. Target stands are in great condition and staplers are provided. The officers managing the flow of the range did a great job. There were no safety violations that I observed and everything ran flawlessly. Also, Mr. Mike Thompson was running the pistol range and was incredibly friendly and helpful and IΓÇÖm looking forward to being back so that I can swap some more military stories with him. CanΓÇÖt recommend this range enough.

This place is great, clean, and staff is very helpful. Bring your targets, ammo, and toys. Two separate sections, with plenty stalls to choose from. Between this range and Clybel, you cannot go wrong. Very thankful my fishing license allows me to practice at this facility. No more indoor ranges for me.
