Young's Long Shot Range

Q: Why does one have to be an NRA member in order to shoot here?
A: Because the owners are insured through the NRA and they received a lot off help from the NRA. That is what I was told from one of the owners.

Q: Anyone know if this place is still open. Hillside closed two days a week their range is open and it's still the same price. It's a drive but I'd rather try this place vs getting screwed over.
A: They are open.

I've been a member for 4 years now. Yes, you have to be NRA because that's where they get insurance for range. The majority of shooters are very helpful and cooperative. The owners do stop by to make sure everyone is a member because there are a lot of people that just show up and sign in with fake info. Most members fix the targets that those inconsiderate people break and then just leave. There is a heated indoor portion so you can comfortably shoot year round.

My friend and I were looking for a nice longer range to shoot at. This place will not consider you for membership unless you're a member of the NRA. Considering that the NRA hasn't accomplished anything beneficial for the second amendment or American gun owners in my lifetime, I will never support them. It's an organization of corruption and fraud, one look at Wayne Lapierre should tell you all you need to know. These old fogies are the type of shooters that give shooters a bad name. Stay away.

Nice enough range, but way too expensive for the quality. Targets never get fixed, and the old guy that runs the place harasses everyone that shows up, rather than fixing anything. Wouldn't recommend unless you really need a long range.

I just joined this year. I don't think you can beat it for the price. Everyone one who shoots is very safety conscious. Great bunch of guys. I highly recommend this range.
